Week 2. Sir Ken Robinson: Do schools kill creativity?
In my opinion, yes, they do. As a person who is still involved, I might say I agree with his opinion
somehow. While schools are just categorizing children based on their age not
their abilities, how can be any expectation of creativity? making mistakes or being wrong meant to be a
huge problem while educating at school. Children have to follow an education
system which never let them think in their own way. Day after day they become
frightened of making any mistakes, maybe cause of punishments. So they learn to
be a follower rather than a creative, experimental and original one. While not
everybody thinks the same, ideas are different and so must be their field of
practicing creativity.
